This website was created to celebrate the centenary of the birth of the Portuguese writer
Carlos de Oliveira (1921 – 1981)
Our goal is for it to be a permanent space to welcome its readers and contribute, with diverse information, to the continuity of studies on its prose and poetry.
We use the writer's expressions to name the website's segments: in “The tip of the iceberg”, we gather biographical information about the writer; in “Calligraphic islands”, we indicate his works and the various editions, organized anthologies, translations carried out and interviews; in “Still the memory”, images kindly provided by collaborators or produced by us and in “The pulse of words”, we relate his critical fortune, with constant updating according to information sent to us.
We also hope to help publicize activities, events, and calls for publication related to Carlos de Oliveira, his life and work.
